Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2022) Devyn Growney received the Young Citizens Award from the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce in October 2021. She was recognized for her commitment and dedication to advancing DEI efforts through Bucks Embrace. Devyn co-led multiple forums, planned meetings, and collaborated with like-minded community leaders. Devyn demonstrated exceptional leadership through her role as a student leader of Bucks Embrace.
Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2021) Sarah Zhang received the 2021 Princeton Prize in Race Relations sponsored by Princeton University. Sarah organized marches, summits and seminars and provided speeches throughout greater Bucks County. She also created the "Diversity Our Narrative" chapter in the Central Bucks School District, which focuses on advocating for antiracist texts in the curriculum. Sarah has been an active student voice and a role model in advancing racial justice in the community through her advocacy work, including her role as Bucks Embrace student leader.
Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2022) Ella Lee received the 2022 Princeton Prize in Race Relations, sponsored by Princeton University in May 2022. Ella was recognized for the important work she has done to advance racial equity and foster positive race relations in her community by co-creating Bucks Embrace as a safe space for all races, sexual identities, and disabilities to come together and educate the community about diversity and become better informed leaders, community members and parents.
Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2022) Emerson (Emme) Partyka received the 2022 Girls Empowered Award. Emme started a nonprofit organization called “GetEMMovin’” to provide wheelchairs, canes, orthotics, and other physical equipment to kids and families that are unable to afford them. Emme is also part of the West United Club/West Ambassadors program, where she was a panelist during the 2021 Diversity Panel. Emme was recognized for her leadership through Bucks Embrace and modeling positivity in the community.
Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2022) Paree Pasi received the Girls Empowered High School Award in May 2021, given to high school girls with exceptional work within the community. Paree was recognized for her work to petition her school district to recognize the first day of Diwali (November 4, 2021) as a school holiday. Paree’s efforts included partnerships, presentations, and a petition. Paree demonstrated an exceptional level of leadership through her advocacy work in the community, including her role as a Bucks Embrace student leader.
Bucks Embrace student leader (2020-2022) Paree Pasi received the 2022 Princeton Prize in Race Relations, in May 2022, sponsored by Princeton University. Paree was recognized for petitioning the Central Bucks School District to recognize Dewali as an official school holiday and by founding Desis of Doylestown to host Doylestown’s first Dewali celebration. These activities raised awareness of the diversity that exists in Central Bucks and promoted racial equity in the community. Paree was commended on the way she responded to the animosity she faced at the school board meetings. Paree has been an incredible student advocate of racial equity.
